This policy explains what information the QPOS restaurant billing software for Windows and the QPOS Owner app for iPhone and Android ("the app") handle, where that information is kept, and who can see it. QPOS and the QPOS Owner app (bundle ID com.qposs.ownerapp) are published by Qube Infosys, India ("we", "us").

The short version

  • We do not collect, store, sell or share your personal data. We have no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
  • All restaurant data stays on the restaurant's own Windows PC. Nothing is stored in any cloud.
  • The QPOS Owner app shows reports from that PC. Data travels between the PC and your phone end-to-end encrypted, and only you can read it.

1. The QPOS billing software (Windows)

QPOS runs entirely on the restaurant's own computer. Sales, bills, menu, tables, staff, stock, expenses and any customer details the restaurant chooses to enter (such as a name or phone number for a bill or a credit due) are saved only in a database file on that PC and in automatic backups on the same PC. We do not operate a cloud database and we cannot see this data. The restaurant owner is in control of it and is responsible for how they use customer details they enter.

QPOS connects to the internet only for things you choose: sending a bill on WhatsApp, checking for software updates, and letting the Owner app reach the PC when you are away from the restaurant. Update checks send only the installed version number and licence details, never sales or customer data.

2. The QPOS Owner app (iPhone and Android)

What it shows. The app is a viewer for your own restaurant: today's and recent sales, bills, GST, expenses, running orders and customer dues, read from your restaurant's PC.

Pairing. You connect the app to your PC with a 6-digit code shown in QPOS (on the same Wi-Fi) or with a one-time pairing key. Pairing creates encryption keys that are stored only on your phone and on your PC.

How data travels. On the restaurant Wi-Fi the app talks to the PC directly. When you are away, the data passes through the QPOS relay server (qpos-relay.qubeinfosys.com, hosted on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India). All data is end-to-end encrypted (ECDH P-256 key exchange with AES-256-GCM), so the relay only forwards encrypted bytes it cannot read. The relay stores nothing and keeps no message logs.

What is stored on your phone. The app keeps three things on your phone only: the last reports it received (so you can view them without internet, with the time they were last updated), the list of restaurants you have paired, and the phone's own encryption key. Removing a restaurant in the app deletes its saved reports and keys. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.

Deleting sales. The app can ask the PC to hide (soft-delete) sales for a date range. The PC only does this after checking the owner PIN, and the change happens on the PC, not on any server.

Permissions. Local network access, to find your PC on the restaurant Wi-Fi, and internet access, to reach the PC through the relay when you are away. The app does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or advertising identifier.

3. What we do not do

  • No sign-up or account with us is needed.
  • No analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools are built into the software or the app.
  • No tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data with anyone.

4. This website

This website has no login, no cookies of its own and no analytics. The "Get a free demo" form opens WhatsApp on your own device with your details filled in; nothing is stored by the website. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.

5. Support and contact

If you contact us for support by phone or WhatsApp, we use what you tell us only to help you. If you ask us to restore a backup or reset a PIN, we work only with the files or codes you give us and do not keep copies.

6. Children

QPOS is business software for restaurant owners and staff. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Your choices

Because your data lives on your own PC and phone, you can view, export or delete it at any time from QPOS. To stop all remote access, remove the restaurant in the Owner app or turn off the Owner app in QPOS Settings.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with its new effective date.
