FAQ

Billing machine questions.

What is a restaurant billing machine?

It is the counter setup you use to take orders, print bills and KOTs, and collect payment. Today it is usually a Windows PC or touchscreen POS, a thermal printer and billing software such as QPOS.

How much does a restaurant billing machine cost?

A complete setup with a PC, an 80 mm thermal printer, a Wi-Fi router and QPOS for a year usually costs ₹35,000 to ₹55,000. If you already have a Windows PC, you only need the printer and QPOS, so about ₹15,000 to ₹20,000.

Do I need a special POS machine?

No. QPOS runs on any Windows 10 or 11 desktop or laptop. A touchscreen POS is nice to have but not required.

Which printer works with QPOS?

Any ESC/POS thermal printer, 58 mm or 80 mm, connected by USB or network cable. Most printers sold in India for billing support ESC/POS.

Does it need internet?

No. Billing, KOTs, printing and reports run on your PC and Wi-Fi router. Internet is only used for WhatsApp bills and the owner app away from the restaurant.
